In the Fall of 2021, I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis in one hip and my spine. While I'd focused on incorporating strength training into my workouts for years because I'd developed bursitis in one hip and some pain in both wrists and elbows, I'd had to decrease the weight in my workouts. Frustrated and unsure how to return on the right track, I contacted friends looking for a personal trainer with experience working with clients with Osteoporosis. Fortunately, they referred me to Isaac. During the very first session, Isaac helped me make adjustments to how I carry my body so that I move better and hurt less. I appreciate that he explains how the movements affect and benefit the body. I find that I’m far more aware of my position and better able to protect myself from injury now. While Isaac pushes me, he always prioritizes correct form, ensuring I gain the most from each exercise without aggravating my joints. One of the greatest bonuses of working with Isaac is that he tailors every session. Each day the first thing he asks is, "How's your body feeling?" If I’ve got pain, he focuses on that, sometimes altering his plan for the whole session to address that issue…and I always feel better afterwards. When I re-injured an old tear in my MCL, Isaac was instrumental in my recovery and being able to avoid surgery. (My orthopedic surgeon even discontinued my physical therapy after a few sessions, saying that my Functional Patterns workouts were the best thing I could be doing.) I feel stronger than I did when I started. In October 2023, my DEXA analysis showed improved muscle and reduced fat – my doctor and I were pleased! I think we’re on the right track and wish everyone had an Isaac to work with.
